John B. Barry, JD, CPA/ABV, CVA
John began his professional career with Arthur Andersen and Price Waterhouse before forming John B. Barry, LLC (the”Firm”) in 1990. As the founder and principal, he is responsible for leading and guiding the team in accomplishing the Firm’s mission. He oversees and manages taxes, outsourcing engagements, legal engagements, audits, and the overall management of the Firm.

John possesses an in-depth knowledge of multi-state tax issues, taxing authority audits and examinations, and complex tax matters. As a lawyer in Maryland, John provides legal advice to clients in business, estate and tax matters. Employing his diversified experience, he blends tax, legal, and business acumen to assist clients.

A Certified Valuation Analyst designation enhances John’s ability to serve his clients. Additionally, John is credentialed with an additional CPA designation of Accredited in Business Valuation.

John obtained his law degree from Marquette University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from St. John’s University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Maryland Association of CPAs, Maryland Bar Association, and National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

Robin B. Ewers, CPA

Robin joined the Firm in 1997. Her extensive experience as a registered representative in brokerage customer service lends tremendous value to her position as Director of Operations Management. In this position she is charged with ensuring client satisfaction by providing IRS resolution, operational and management guidance and tax planning and compliance. Robin manages and directs outsourcing engagements.

Robin graduated from Villa Julie College with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Accounting and received her CPA certification from the State of Maryland.

She is a member of the Maryland Association of CPAs, and Maryland Society of Accountants.


Ivolin (Ivy) Davy, CPA, MBA

Ivy is the Director of Accounting. She joined the Firm in 2005 after working as controller of a non-profit organization. With over 20 years experience serving the accounting needs of non-profit, stevedoring and transportation industries, she brings a wide array of experience to her position. She plans and participates in audits, reviews, compilations and other accounting projects.

Ivy received her CPA certification from the State of Maryland. She earned her MBA from Loyola College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.

 

Nancy H. Cioffi
Nancy joined the Firm in 2003. She is the Firm’s paralegal and assists with estate planning and administration, entity creation, and other special projects. Additionally, she has received extensive training in individual tax preparation and is pursing her Enrolled Agent designation.

Nancy graduated from Villa Julie College with a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal studies. Additionally Nancy holds a degree in Elementary Education from Towson University.

Danielle R. Cormier
Danielle joined the Firm in 2008 as a staff accountant after working as a financial reporting officer in the banking industry. Her responsibilities include conducting audits, reviews, compilations, and other accounting projects. She also prepares individual and corporate tax returns.

Danielle graduated from Villa Julie College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Forensic Studies at Stevenson University.

Margaret (Lin) T. Hardy
Lin joined the Firm in 2006 as a tax preparer. She prepares individual tax returns. Lin came to us with 9 years of experience preparing individual tax returns for CPA firms in Maryland & Delaware. Prior to that, she worked as Assistant Director of Information Systems at Winterthur Museum in Delaware.

Lin earned a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Widener University and a Bachelor degree in English from the University of Delaware.
